Morning After Crew- SpaceDust REVIEW

Class 11 alumi, The Morning After Crew is back and they continue to blow our minds with their evolution. A band that never misses a beat and consistently shows up with a high-quality brand. MAC delivers us a music video wrapped up as a cinematic short film that dances around in darker realms than we’ve seen from this band. Which is a window into the depth of how diverse MAC is and what scaling this brand with age could look like.

And let us not forget to mention the badassery that sits from production, to lyrics, to the delivery. Morning After Crew sits in a class of their own. Breaking down the stereotypes of what a successful hip hop crew should embody in 2019. SpaceDust does JUST that! Before jumping into the music video, come jump into this review.

MEET MAC (Morning After Crew)

Now come meet The Morning After Crew! Charly Hartlett, the golden-eared beatmaking machine with a knack for edgy thought provoking lyrics.Tony Rockit, the all natural soulful flowmaster with an old school but modern feel.Rounding out the group is London Moon, the sharp-tongued, deep thinking poet turned emcee with a dangerous array of styles for the masses.

Natives of the middle Tennessee area, MAC came together with 3 creatives wanting to challenge the current hip hop scene. Teaming up in in the early days,  MAC started creating a name for themselves with their undeniably hype live shows. Fastforward to the present, MAC is building an impressive resume while remaining independent. Do yourself a favor, jump over to the YouTube and get in a MAC video wormhole. You’ll thank us for it!

SpaceDust Music Video

We are going to go ahead and forewarn you, this video is a bit of a darker vibe than what you’ve seen from MAC thusfar. But we are digging the diversity. Stepping into, what feels like, a Quentin Tarantino movie, Cult Cinematics sets the eery precedence right out of the gate. Personifying MAC as the amateur gangsters making loose, clumsy moves, while simultaneously doing the exact opposite with their lyrics and flow. The film showcases MAC’s relentless pursuit to high quality art while exposing nuggets of their humorous personalities. And how they successfully marry a vibe and a banger so effortlessly, still has us baffled.

SpaceDust isn’t the only piece of art excluded from MAC’s resume of thought provoking, subliminal and metaphoric messages. We believe the personified gangsters was a stab at the stereotypical hip hop artists and the fact that MAC played those characters reinforces the jab. But that makes sense because MAC isn’t the type of band to lay down and reform. They are, what we like to call, market disruptors. The entire SpaceDust film relays the message of if you try and be anything other than what are you, it’s going to turn around and bite you in the ass. Just as the gangsters in the film, robbing a close friend. When the friend bounced back, he robbed them. Only to be sitting and jamming to MAC’s song as he relishes in his successful mission of revenge.

MAC’s message of authenticity just gets reinforced with every single, video or photo they pump out. That’s why this band has such a loyal fan base is because MAC’s built a home where people can come vibe out and be themselves.

Enough on the rambling, now come check out this dope ass music video by Morning After Crew “SpaceDust” Directed by Adam Settle Production Assistant- Mitch Hallum – A Cult Cinematics Film
