Bishop Gunn is something else. Their recorded music, live performance, just in general being awesome humans. They’re the full package. Through some fantastic songwriting they give us as the fan and the listener a story that plays out through our ear drums. Don’t believe me, well the video for ‘Shine’ shines a light on what I mean. The song is literally about shining a light on your story, and in the video, on those of Natchez, Mississippi.
In my opinion what’s really cool is the diversity of the people they feature in their video. Everyone from every walk of life can be seen featured. Young. Old. Man. Woman. Blue collar. White Collar. It’s a beautiful way of saying no matter what walk of life we have come from or are heading, we all have a cool story to tell. I only wish I could hear all the stories of the people in this video. I love hearing what others have gone through. Feeling inspired by triumphs and humbled by the struggles others may face. So hey, next time you’re out and about, meet someone new, and give them the floor to shine a light on their story. You never know who you might meet and what impact their story may have on you, or yours on their life.
