Wildwood (Class 7) has had an amazing journey through life and through music. She shared some of that journey with us on the Red Couch Interview. As well we’ve also heard it/seen it through her music. The visuals for Shattered are no different. The video was shot shot in Paris 2018 AD to accompany the release of the single in 2019 via South x Sea. Seems a little long no? 2 years after the single dropped & almost 3 after the filming it comes to fruition? Well the answer came via her facebook post as she released the visual on March 1st:
“Once upon a time, in a world before coronavirus and travel restrictions, in the year AD 2018, I filmed a music video for one of my She is Wildwood songs in Paris, France. Little did I know at the time that the videographer behind the camera (Brandon Metcalf) had a plan to propose to me at the end of the shoot in front of a sparkling Eiffel Tower that night. The proposal naturally shifted my focus away from making a music video to instead planning a wedding over the next year. So here we are, a few trips around the sun later, me having finally pieced together the long-lost footage.
Editing this video over the past few weeks took me on a wonderful trip down memory lane, back to my favorite city in the universe. I hope these 3 minutes and 13 seconds take you on a magical journey to the cobblestone streets of Paris. Je vous présente, “Shattered,” the one-and-only music video I’ve ever shot in Paris, on a dream trip, with a dream guy.”
It’s Always The Videographer
So I guess you could say, in a way, the delay really was the videographers fault. Just kidding Brandon. You’re know you’re the homie!
For real though I remember hearing about the trip to Paris back then for the video shoot. And the subsequent proposal that happened after. So I’m glad to see with life settling down a bit Anne “Wildwood” was able pick up the pieces of video for Shattered that have been in the jar the last few years and put them together. Taking the home-movie approach to give a real life, walk-through of Paris, they did a great job piecing this together. Not only in the process bringing back good memories for them but also giving us a video to love with a story to tap right into all our feels! We love you guys!
