As far as the Nashville soul music scene goes, DeRobert and The Half-Truths just might be the whole truth.  Led by powerful vocalist DeRobert Adams, this band has been bringing down the house in Nashville for the past decade.  With a full band, complete with horn section and DeRobert’s raw charisma, the guys bring the fun with every performance.  As their Facebook bio suggests, these guys are influenced by “anything with a beat and horns, son.”

With nearly 20 years of singing experience, Memphis-born DeRobert Adams has been stunning audiences since he was a child.  He was raised singing in church, which not only trained his voice, but gave him an extra helping of soul as well.  As a young man, DeRobert left Memphis behind for a future in music.  It literally happened overnight, as DeRobert packed his bags and never looked back.  As a result, he found himself in Murfreesboro, TN attending MTSU.  As many of us here in Nashville know, MTSU is big on their music industry classes.  This would be the perfect place to set his dreams afoot.

The Band is Born

This is where fate gave him the opportunity to bring his powerful voice to the next level, as he met close friends Nick DeVan and David Singleton. Most noteworthy, he found the right people to go on and make a splash in the Nashville soul music scene. with DeRobert and The Half-Truths, but develop their own independent label, G. E. D. Soul Records.

As their sound and band grew, the group started releasing albums in a highly unique way for the 21st Century.  They recorded their EPs on a 7” record, technology that throws back to the old days of Motown and Funk.  This was interesting as the sound quality these little 45s produced were true to the sound of DeRobert and The Half-Truths.  These recordings are real, gritty, and spoke to the fans of their preferred genre.

In true Unsigned fashion, these guys banded together to find their dreams.  Not only have they put the work in since the 2000’s, they’ve built their legacy from the ground up.  They own their brand, they own their sound, and they continue to bring the house down with each new vinyl record and live performance!
